Finlater Synopsis

He is the Founding Executive Director of an organization called Truth Wins Out which is a non-profit organization that defends the GLBT community against anti-gay misinformation campaigns, counters the ex-gay industry and educates America about gay life.

He talks very candidly about his life, his coming out stories and some very interesting stories that helped shape his life today and why he wanted to create Truth Wins Out and the amazing work that they are doing.

The purpose of this show was to talk about his reviews etc but as I talked with him about his life the direction of the show completely changed and you will be amazed as I was about the many experiences that he has had over the years.

Mini Marathon Video

I completed my 4th attempt at the 500 Festival Mini Marathon in Indianapolis, Indiana, One of the best things about this event is that over 35,000 people participate in this event with over 4,000 volunteers and you are able to do a complete lap of the Indianapolis 500 racetrack as well. Watching this many people in the event is something that I always wanted to try and capture on video and so this time I decided to do so.

Hope you enjoy the video and hope you will always challenge yourself to do something you have never thought you could do like I did four years ago!

He is one of the founding members of this group that wants to see an end to the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy. It saddens me that so many great members of the military are being kicked out simply for them being gay. We all need to call or write to our representatives and tell them that we want this hateful policy to end and to end NOW. Get vocal – get active – we have to take the courage that people had 40 years ago at Stonewall to continue what they started and to never allow any member of the GLBT community to be treated ever again like a second class citizen!

On this episode of Ramble Redhead I interview an amazing guy by the name of Daniel Choi and he is one of the founders for an organization called Knights Out which is an organization of out Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) West Point Alumni. He is a client of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), which provides free legal services to those affected by Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. An estimated 65,000 LGBT Americans serve in the armed forces. The views expressed here are Dan Choi’s personal views and not those of the Department of Defense or the Department of the Army.

Lt. Daniel Choi is an Iraq combat veteran and a West Point graduate with a degree in Arabic. On this episode he talks about his life as he grew up in California as a son of a Southern Baptist minister. He talks about why he decided to come out and the reaction he had from his family and friends. He talks about why he wanted to go into the military and how things went during that time.

I found his books a while ago and was amazed by his latest book called Loving Ourselves: The Gay and Lesbian Guide to Self-Esteem which is a truly amazing book. A week later I was listening to a great podcast called Alex and Dean Gay Men Talking and I was happy to see that they had him as a guest to help promote the book. I loved the show they did and knew I had to ask him to be a guest on my show.

In this episode he talks about his past relationships and the horrors he had with dating before he met his partner Brad (see picture) and the very romantic way it all began! I found his books a while ago and was amazed by his latest book called Loving Ourselves: The Gay and Lesbian Guide to Self-Esteem which is a truly amazing book. A week later I was listening to a great podcast called Alex and Dean Gay Men Talking and I was happy to see that they had him as a guest to help promote the book. I loved the show they did and knew I had to ask him to be a guest on my show. In this episode he talks about his life growing up in the south in a very small town and how his family dealt with his coming out. We talk about a very important aspect of his life and how it created a huge influence on where his career path would go and so much more!

On this episode of Ramble Redhead, I had the honor of talking with the very funny comedian ANT. He talks about his growing up in New Hampshire, his coming out, and he began he work as a comic. I first heard about him when he appeared on one of my favorite shows Last Comic Standing. He talks about the experience and what he thought of being on the show and how it has helped his career on other reality shows as well. I laughed so many times talking with him and I know you will too. One of the things he and I both agree about is the wonderful responses from our fans to our work over the years. ANT takes calls from my listeners and holds nothing back on a variety of topcis. We talk about how he is a great role model to the GLBT community and how touched he is when he hears from his fans. It was especially true when he dealing with a very sad part of his life and how his fans showed their support this past November.

ANT is a great man and fantastic comedian and I am very happy he shared his story with me. Please leave a comment on this show asap!
