Episode 136 Follow up with Rebecca Nay

This is a great follow up with Rebecca Nay as she talks about how things went with her surgery, the time she spent in recovering and so much more. She is a great educator as she talks about her life and the struggles she has had to deal with and how she is very courageous in what she has done.

    Rebecca Nay is so neat.

I remember fondly your first podcast with Rebecca and poring over her site to see her status. Thus it is a wonderful treat to hear the aftermath of the transition and her experiences and such. I started watching “Pussification 2006”, and after laughing at the title, saw what a wonderful and engaging person Rebecca is. I also appreciate her talking about her experiences in a way that lets me understand her thoughts and her motives… as she seems interested in getting non-transexuals past the hurdle of “well I just don’t understand it”.

I am glad to hear she is well, I will continue to read her site, and I hope you two get together a bunch in the future.

Thank you for the kind words..

This was a great interview. Actually, it was on Rebecca’s site that I first started learning some of the basics of podcasting–long before I ever actually did anything about it. I’d heard about her on The Gay Expat and thought she was fantastic even then. I’m so glad to hear the update and that she’s doing well. She’s a community treasure.

REbecca, you area a remarkable woman. I am sorry to hear about all the pain you had to endure. I hope life for you is great now.

Wow, what an amazing interview, Tom. As a long time Tranny Wreck listener, I really enjoyed hearing more of Rebecca talking about her experiences through the sexual reassignment surgery. Getting this message out to the world is what is needed to get people over their fears about the GLBT community.

Needless to say, this is a fascinating topic. As Rebecca mentioned, I can’t imagine not finding a penis the most fascinating thing in the world, but then we are all wired differently.

The one thing that came up in my mind during the discussion (and perhaps this was covered in the earlier interviews, I don’t remember) was how much did all of this cost? I know it is a crass question, but this process has to have cost thousands and thousands of dollars. Did she have that much saved up? Did insurance cover part of this? Does she still owe lots of money?

It certainly is an example of someone carrying through and being as honest with herself as she could possibly be.

I hope this brings happiness to her.

  8. Rebecca Nay Says:

Alot of the questions about cost can be viewed by going to mtfsurgery.com

Basically my home paid for my pussy!!

  9. (F)reddy Says:

As far as gay men being put off by behaviors within the gay community, I think its just a human reaction of being afraid of what you don’t understand. I’m guilty of it. I’ll admit it. I’m not going to sit high up on a perch and say I’m above it. Is it right? No. But for every “purse carrying, hair dressing, nelly queen” that I don’t get, there’s an “A-Gay” or that very same PCHDNQ that doesn’t “get” me either. And I’m sure there’s a “group” of people within the GLBTQQ population that EVERYONE, individually, within the GLBTQQ population scratches their head and says, “I don’t get it.”

Great follow up with Rebecca. Thanks for the catch up.
